But not Ashlee Arnau, a cheerleader at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She's been working a trick shot that will likely go down in the record books. And is unlikely to be repeated any time soon.
Here's more from USA Today:
During halftime of William Carey's NAIA hoops game against Auburn Montgomery on Thursday night a cheerleader made a half-court shot in epic, acrobatic fashion. The William Carey cheerleader, Ashlee Arnau, first picked up the ball as she was doing a forward handspring and then preceded to launch an overhead heave close to 50 feet away from the rim to completely drain the half-court shot. No bank was open. Nothing but net.Apparently, Arnau has been practicing the shot since Christmas and finally made it. The half-court trick shot was not only impressive because it was mid-flip, but also because of the arm strength to launch an over-the-head half-courter. As it turns out, Arnau is on the William Carey soccer team as well. Not a bad way to combine two skill sets.
